After lunch at Red Rooster Bob and Gabby let Peewee eat their leftovers in the back of the truck.



Bob inspects a large silage store at a nearby dairy, planning to make his own on the farm. Silage is animal feed that is fermented for storage.

Gandhi poses atop a box containing all of the feathers she has molted over the past few months. It's not until a Red-Tailed Hawks first molt, at one year old, do they grow red tail feathers.



The following photographs are of railroad cars on the ranch of Tom Carillo. The cars were converted into temporary housing for migrant workers under the Brazero program (1942-1964). The program allowed Mexican migrant workers to temporarily work in the United States when the economy recovered after the great depression and labor demand rose during World War II.
