Sun Farm Kitchens Co-op Trailer Grand Re-Opening | Austin, TX

June 16, 2011
I was invited to a grand re-opening party at food trailer in east Austin. Keston Broughton shut down for around a month for vacation but now Sun Farm Kitchens Co-op is back up and running at 1106 East 11th, five blocks east of the I-35. The solar-powered kitchen is self described as "low-impact food for wayward boys," not to exclude girls though I'm sure. They serve up great 'local meats and vegan treats' passing out samples to visitors as three bands played on stage. Keston and I traded food for photo's, and I have to say it was a good deal on my end. My veggie dog was amazing with an awesome shredded carrot topping!

Rachel Haring, a former roommate of Keston's searches for a way to support the re-opening by sharing it on a certain social media website that starts with an F and ends with an acebook.

From left, Brian Ferguson Tim D'Brass and Colton May wait before taking the stage Friday afternoon.

Melissa Mouton, a nutritionist from Austin listens to the music. Plans might be in the works for her to organize discussion groups on nutrition at the trailer.
